Well, you saw the title, me and a friend is messing around with what's best. Were basicly comparing three Sapphire Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5's with two ASUS GeForce GTX 670 2GB PhysX CUDA's

The 7950's cost as much as the 670's so it's not a fight about the money, what do you guys think would be the best?

At the max overclock, 7950s are similar to GTX 670s (It basically depends on the game.) so surely, 3 cards of a given speed will be faster than 2 cards of the same speed! The 7950s win! thumb.gif

Tri fire. 3 cards usually scale pretty well. Big time diminishing returns on quad. I know a 6990 + a 6970 scaled very well.

I'd choose two 7950s over two 670s, so my answer is obvious.
The 7950s perform about the same as the 670s when both are overclocked, and they perform better if you are running 1440p+ resolutions.

even two HD 7950s are better than two GTX 670s. also why do you need more than two HD 7950s . these cards at 1.1 Ghz will run the latest games maxed out even at 5760 x 1080.

3x7950s. duh... Both are wonderful cards actually.

As much as I like my nVidia cards, the 3GB version would be the better choice. Even ignoring the possibility of increased speed of Triple CrossfireX vs Dual Sli, just the fact of having 1 more GB of memory on the card will give you many more options as far as resolution.
