Anyone else having issues with Fallout 3/New Vegas not wanting to bring up the console in Windows 8?

Alright so I figured I'd see if anyone on here is having the same issue. I recently upgrade from Windows 7 Professional 64-bit to Windows 8 Pro 64-bit and picked up a new 2TB drive to put more stuff on my computer. I reinstalled Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas because I loved those games and I've been on a bit of a post-apocalyptic kick lately. My problem is that while everything else loads up perfectly, I can't get the console to come up when I press the tilde key "~" and as we all know, what's a Bethesda game without some console command fun?

Has anyone else had this issue and has anyone found a solution?

Does the game pause when you hit the tilde key? If so, I think there's some issue with how the console is displayed in widescreen resolutions. There are some tips here as well for other possible causes.

Nope, no pausing. Acts like I'm not even hitting the tilde key at all but the key works in Skyrim and other games. Never had this issue before and Bethesda wouldn't help with this issue so it's up to the power of the Internet to save me.

I really have no idea. You could probably just use this mod, though.

When playing Fallout NV, The console wouldn't show up for me unless I unplugged my usb controller first:)
