Shouldnt you be able to access it through speedfan? IF not, ahve you considered the temp probe to be a dud?

Sometimes it labels them itself, can u see your m/b temp in bios? it should rise that much try and match it with a temp on speedfan, my cpu is temp1 and my mobo is temp2 not sure what my core it but its runs cooler than my cpu for some reason.....

No prob mate, your mobo should be temp2 if your cpu is temp1. Time to start OC'ing that CPU if you just ordered a 8800, im guessing you might bottleneck your gpu with that 3700 at stock.

MBM5 should work if you get the patch from dfi-street. Unsure if they cover all the DFI MBs or not though
