Youtube HD video very slow buffering

Hey guys, I know that Youtube hasn't exactly had the best track history with this topic, but I just wanted to rule out as to whether or not this is just me, or if it effects more than just me.

Lately, as in the past month or so, whenever I attempt to stream HD content from Youtube, the content buffers very slowly and takes a great deal of time before I am able to actually watch the video. It will take sometimes up to 15 or 20 minutes to buffer a 1080P video even if its only a few minutes in length.

Prior to having this issue I could click on the video, select 1080p, wait a few seconds, and play the video as it buffered. Now, I cannot do this, and it seems to be isolated to Youtube from what I can tell. This condition exists on all three of my PC's (a hardwired desktop, a wireless desktop, and a wireless laptop) as well as my PS3. I have a cable connection with a DL of 25Mbps and UL of 1Mbps.

I am able to run multiple instances of Hulu Plus, or Netflix with no buffering issues, both wired and wireless. Im fairly certain that this is not my hardware, or connection, however I am curious as to whether or not anyone else has had the same issues.

I had such a thing before few times because of various reasons

Once it was a problem in Chrome or Firefox I can't recall. Youtube was flawless with IE but gave me slow loading with other browswers

The other time it was due to my service provider blocking the bandwith for youtube for a while. Everything else was fast but not youtube.

I am not sure if any of the two would apply to you though.

Well, I suppose it could be my ISP throttling YouTube traffic, considering its a very popular site. I'm not sure why they would do that though.

I did notice an anomaly earlier though. My connection got really really slow. My adapter showed a data rate of 1Mbps, it is normally 150Mbps, so I knew something was up. I got really bad Speedtest.net results on all of my computers, so I think the router had a seizure or something lol. So I may have a dying router, even though its strange that I have only had issues with YouTube recently.

Is it safe to assume that you have no issues with HD content on YouTube?

currently I have no issues with youtube HD. I have a 10mbps speed and I can stream just fine.

Best way is to check people with your ISP and ask them.

With my ISP I was not the only one having that issue back when I had it. There were several people, not everyone though,

Also trying it with a different router if you have the chance would be brilliant.

I will do that, as I have a few friends and family members that have the same ISP. If my router decides to crap on me again, I may have to replace it anyways, so lets hope that my router isn't to blame here.

Good luck with it. Let us know how it works for you.

Who knows everything might be just fine magically all of a sudden.

I've had buffering problems with Youtube for as long as I've been using it... maybe 4 different addressed and 3 different ISPs.

Hell, even 480p buffers sometimes. I'm about to just bite the bullet and buy youtube accelerator, youtube has serious bandwidth issues.
