Strictly for the PC version...

How do you guys find the PC version?

I am looking for a highly addictive game so I can be able to enjoy wasting as much time as I used to on modern warfare 2 smile.gif

black ops and mw3 were unable to keep me interested for hours on end.

Please, I want genuine unbiased opinions - if your another one of those kids who puts down whatevers mainstream to make yourself feel like your better then the rest of us, dont vote.

*PLEASE READ*
Please do NOT vote in the poll if you have not actually played the game! While I myself have not played yet, I can CLEARLY see that they have put a lot more effort into pleasing the PC community with this game, and innovating the game! If you are one of those narrow minded COD players and you come on here just to diss on COD you should be ashamed, I mean come on they have given us proper DX11, larger field of views and higher framerate options for those with 120hz monitors, if you still think that they dont cater for the PC crowd its people like you that are the reason they dont - making us enthusiasts look like a bunch of brats that will never be happy enough with what we have doh.gif .rant

Been playing the PS3 version with an adapter to allow for mouse and keyboard setup. Played every COD out there on PC, and every single one on release since MW2. Decided to get BO2 for PS3 (first COD series on ps3 for me) cause my friends all jumped on the PS3 for FPS games.

In my honest opinion BO2 is better than MW3 and Black Ops 1, even on par with MW2.

About half way through the campaign and it's honestly breathtaking. Seeing some of the returning characters from BO1 almost gave me that same fanboy squeel that I had after seeing Soap again in MW2 from COD4. The story is one of the best I've seen so far from the series, never felt so connected to the characters since MW1/2. And the ending of the campaign is actually choice-based. Certain decisions or actions alter the ending. The campaign can honestly last you hours. I am not usually a perfectionist that finds everything, collects everything, and does everything perfectly cause usually I'm just too lazy to, but BO2 on Veteran can easily last you 15 hours or more in one playthrough if you try, like me, to redo missions and get the ending you want. Triple that number if you want all three endings. The only bad parts are the Strike Force missions where you control troops to defend a place. They are impossibly hard on Veteran, and for some stupid reason, Treyarch made them influence the story which was a poor decision on their part, but it's acceptable if you don't play on the hardest difficulty.

The multiplayer is also a step up from MW3 and BO1. There are big maps again! YAY! No more cramped MW3 maps! And I think Treyarch seriously have outdone themselves with map design this time around. The different routes and positions you can take truly encourage strategy, like flanking and backdooring (S&D) and even teamwork, unlike any other COD. Also, the new class creation system is refreshing and all the guns seem very balanced, unlike in the previous two CODS where 2-4 weapons were the only ones people used. All the new guns seem to be viable. The killing does feel very similar to Black Ops 1 though, which may or may not be a good thing depending on whether you like the heavier feeling of kills in MW2/3 or the lighter feel of kills in BO (if you played them you would know this feeling I'm talking about).

I have played all the CODs and every one of them after MW2 was a little bit more and more disappointing for me. I used to be a hardcore Infinity Ward fanboy, and I disliked Treyarch stuff, but this time around, Treyarch has proven themselves even in my biased eyes. IW is no longer the master of COD, Treyarch is. They managed to revitalize a series that was getting extremely stale, so standing ovation to them. At first I thought this was just another year, another COD, nothing special, probably the same old stuff again that I must buy because deep inside I am hoping for something new. Black Ops 2 blew me away, and it delivered everything I hoped for.

tl;dr Get the game.

Cheers.

Exactly the kind of input I was looking for, thank you a lot smile.gif

I am probably going to go down and buy this on wednesday. Il get it on PC even though I bought myself a brand new xbox less then a week ago rolleyes.gif

I am hoping for a game that will keep me mindlessly addicted for months on end, when I was playing mw2 even when I was working late nights at midnight id be thinking "sweeeet I cant wait to finish up and go home play some mw2!"

Modern Warfare 3 and Black Ops did not give this feeling, I was hoping battlefield 3 would too but I cannot keep focused on any of those games for more then an hour or two at a time frown.gif

Edit: What kind of framerates do you get maxed out? Does the game support 120hz monitors? I would be sooo happy if it supported 120hz monitors this time round!

It's both better than the last few, and beating the dead horse so to speak, buy it for sure it's pretty good, just don't expect too much

It's a much better game. I'm really enjoying the bigger maps and the campaign is always exciting for me with COD. Throw in zombies and you're set for some fun. Treyarch have done a great job on this one.

I know exactly what you mean. MW3 and BO1 lasted me only 40 hours and 20 hours respectively, while compared to my MW2 playtime of over 400 hours. And Battlefield 3 was more or less the same for me after my friends stopped playing.

Honestly, every COD game or BF game can last you MUCH longer if you have some friends to play with. I think part of the reason MW2 was so amazingly fun for me was because so many of my friends played it, and my clan played it. Being completely surrounded by it, and talking about it all the time, and having the chance to party up with anybody at anytime makes a game have a 10x longer lasting appeal. So yeah, find a clan or buddy to play BO2 with, it'll make it more fun smile.gif

Also I'm not sure about the monitor thing. I use a PS3 with HDMI hooked straight up to my monitor so I don't quite know.

worst of the entire series IMO
I miss the CODs when it was a WW2 game personally and actually had some
facts and history in the game.....OPs is pure garbage and
I am sorry I bought it but its hard to say no when you have been playing COD since the first one 10 years ago ...

I still think COD2 and MW1 were the
gems of the franchise

Addios my friend and remember people just because its sells millions of copies
does not make it better it makes is common......just like a BigMac

Only thing I'm not liking is the ridiculous spawn points. All I usually play is TDM and it's like playing FFA. You spawn nowhere near your teamates and usually if you run off a couple kills in a row you die because someone from the other team spawns right near or behind you.

I voted for Great and Addictive as I've already put in 20 hours (steam time). Of course, this would be the first time I've played a CoD game on the PC. And the first time I ever played a CoD MP game for any length of time. So the series is pretty fresh for me...

Yeah Modern Warfare 2 was my first proper experience for me. I had played cod 4 in internet cafes occasionally but never REALLY got into it.

I am annoyed with the fact most of the votes have gone to beating a dead horse, but those people have not put any input on the thread...

I will probably ignore those votes as im aware of the fact a lot of people are biased against the COD series and will refuse to acknowledge the effort put into the new game.

Wait, is it still cool to hate on COD at the moment?
