Listen I work at a shop that sells computers and parts and also services computers. You can't pick out three or four online reviews and extrapolate any useful information from that.

Overall I have seen a lot more faulty OCZ drives than Crucial drives and if I was buying today I still wouldn't buy Vertex over an M4. All drives have a failure rate and you have to look at the overall numbers to know which drives are most reliable.

So please everyone, stop thinking that 3 or 4 bad Newegg or Amazon reviews mean anything. Now if there are LOTS of reviews across multiple sites all saying the same thing then maybe you start to suspect something.

LOL...so much mis information and poor logic it isn't funny.

People quoting "I have had mine for 19 months" or I have had mine for 5 months...is IRRELEVANT.

Moreover the sample size of this discussion or the "feedback" you see on reseller sites is also sooo poor it isn't worth using as a data point.

Intel SSD for the win... why? who knows? it is just as valid as any other choice such as OCZ, or Crucial... why? because unless you are ordering these by the 100s for deployment in your field of work, the fault rates are so close to each other that when it applies to an AVERAGE consumer's usage (number of SSD drives used over a given length of time) it means nothing.

so much e-peen and hate on this forum sometimes.

Well Crucial aint the one going bankrupt soon so this sums everything up in regards of OCZ product quality..

You need to stop using that as a source, people will not just hop on newegg and write a review about something they bought a year ago. But if they failed to update the firmware and they think their drive died they probably will.

Am I just lucky, or is it a boot order Issue?

Yes, it's random. I reboot only when there's drivers update from amd and that's when it happened. Now you see your ssd, now you don't! But downgrading f/w fixes it smile.gif

I just looked at the receipt for my Crucial M4 128GB, and I bought it a year ago today, 11/19/2011. My drive has been written to, and turned on and off more times than anyone's, I could almost guarantee it, lol

I will test this 1 year thing.

Cool thread

I remember reading something about the newest M4 firmware only working on non-UEFI boards. Is this true? I want to go from 000F to the newest firmware, but my Sony Vaio laptop has a UEFI BIOS.
