Sell me the 9800GTX and go buy a GTX 260 or GTS 450.

Save your money.

Buy a cheap 560ti and wait for next gen gpu's.

560ti is roughly 2.5x better than a single 9800 imo.

i went from 2x 8800 GTX's to a 560ti and it felt like a 40-60% increase..what it was exactly i dont know ..but a 560ti will deffinatly give you a jump in performance whilst saving you money to spend on a future upgrade to ether a 700 series nvidia or a 8000 series ATI.

ATI X8XX NEVER was a midrange!!! X6XX and X7XX were midrange! What happened that people lost sense of video card rankings?

On topic:

If you were happy with a 9800GTX, you should be happy with GTX650 Ti. Lesser cards than GTX650 Ti are not for gaming.

However i personally recommend an older GTX460, because you will find it cheaper than GTX650 Ti, but it will score the same result and will buldoze your 9800GTX 2,5 times and will have all the needs of a modern graphic card.

PS: graphics cards are above "games", and their fast progress does not correlate with the progress of games - the GTX 6 series cards have triple the shader count from GTX 5 series, but the real increase in performance is pathetic, the drivers do not utilize the potential of the shaders.

WHAT THE HELL? You have no idea what are you talking!!!!!

Since the "dawn of time" it has been like this:

9200 - low end
9550 - mid range
9800 PRO - high end

HD3450 - low end
HD3650 - mid range
HD3850 - high end

So i WILL REPEAT AGAIN - THE NUMBER 8 in X8XX HAS ALWAYS BEEN THE MARK OF A HIGH END CARD.

HD7900 is enthusiast.

Tell me WTH happened that suddenly you lost the sense of VGA ranking like it ALWAYS ALWAYS has been so clear!!!

if you have a doubt ask around on the forums. the enthusiast cards are multi GPU cards like GTX 690 or HD 7990. these are costing upwards of 900 dollars.

Yes, those are enthusiast cards too, as i agree with you.
My POINT was (AND I REPEAT AGAIN) that X8XX cards from ATI or AMD have always been known as high-end cards. End of line.
