(see, I can play the veil my comments in an inflaming way, too.)
The long story short is this: If given the choice, Windows 8 would have more users and wouldn't affect any of you guys form using Metro if you so wished it. I don't get the contest or debate here. Why is there even any debate around giving end users the choice to use what they want?

Look back at my quotes. I agree MS should give us the option to use either metro or the desktop. Only makes sense to me. Of course then I get told I have no credibility to a certain person (which is not bad) because I personally like to use metro... rolleyes.gif

Fixed. Please, don't be so broad. tongue.gif

Edit: As far as you know, I am just someone who prefers the desktop that is single minded.
I agree with you that there should be a choice. That was a comment I had made on another thread I believe.

lol.

Hmmm.. so his idea sounded good on paper (metro, new UI, introduction to phone/tablet OS), and to some is passable in actual usage, although when it comes to money, that's serious business and if Win8 isn't selling because of this idea, then something needs to change.

Pretty sure everyone loves the performance enhancements of the OS, as long as driver support comes along quickly, then the only remaining issue is the new UI.

I never said that frown.gif

And yes, I've seen you say, three times, that you want people to have the choice and you avoid the desktop.

You won't always have crash dumps, sometimes the memory stack is corrupted. BSOD error codes can sometimes be useful.

Plugging all my usb devices and stick (popups take again 1/3 of my screen -l-). Final stage, installing the drivers finally ( bare in mind that I downloaded the correct drivers for W8) only to find out that those W8 drivers are not for the server edition and there is no support, yet.

Uninstall, format, going back to W7.

I didn't have problem with the StartMenu as I was already aware of it (thanks OCN) although I use it frequently but so many annoyances and do we need trivial things taking up so much space on your screen?

Ya........ I just installed Server 2012 on an ESXi server. That VM layer pretty much solves all your problems. tongue.gif

That's not the point of course... It should work, but I would never install a server OS onto the base system anyway when I could get so much more usage out of the hardware with VMs.

Same... Overclocking with Win8 has been hell due to the lack of info. I have an almost blank Win7 install for when I plan to test things now.

See, this is what I have trouble understanding. You are bragging about almost fitting everything on 2 1440p monitors.

Wanna guess how much room I need to fit all my stuff?

470x1080. Including start menu. And they aren't even in straight rows.

I can understand you sticking with metro only because you like it, and that's fine, but there are honestly people claiming that the metro start menu is more efficient (not that they like it, but that it's faster) then the image above.

Or people like eternal7trance who try to force their personal opinion on everyone as if it's fact. (Seriously eternal, so far in this thread you've been no better then a door to door Jehovah's Witnesses. Let them use what they wan't, stop trying to convert them to the One True OS Win8)

There are people telling us "it's totally faster! just to Winkey - type..." when this has been around since Vista and is absolutely nothing new.

At least out of the anti-metro mouths (and yours) I hear "let there be an option" or "I don't like" or "I prefer this method"
