wifi connecting device that unlocks secured wifi?

Hi I was just browsing facebook and decided to go to our county garage sale page to see what was up. Then I stumbled across this little thing that has caused a whole lot of heated arguments among my community

Apparently the guy had bought it off eBay and claims that it can access peoples' locked wifi. He didn't give much explanation on how this thing works other then as follows. " This will unlock the locked wifi so you can use that persons Internet and without that persons permission."

I do know that accessing a person's internet without permission is illegal but I was just wondering if anyone has any idea what this product is or if it really does do what was described as doing.

3 questions,

A) if its caused many arguments in your community why buy it.

B) it depends on the type of security going,

C) why would you be stupid enough to even attempt to use one because you will leave a electronic footprint behind where the local law wont hesitate to use against you with the full force of the law. (no offence or anything)

Thing is there is no need to buy one all you need is their Ip address and CMD and you can override their password like it wasn't even there. wink.gif

The post has been taken down now. And I bet some over sensitive mother already called the police and reported the entire thing.

And I live in a pretty rural part of Arkansas so there are a lot of not smart enough to know that you can leave a footprint behind that can be traced. But with the raging in the comments I doubt there would be anyone stupid enough to buy it.
