Meanwhile, a few games I tried that worked: Counter Strike (Source and GO), Left 4 Dead 1 & 2, Dues Ex: Human Revolution, Company of Heroes, Portal 1 & 2, Titan Quest
I'm not sure what the issue is. At first I thought it was much the older games that didn't work, but that turned out to be false.
Literally just finished playing some Arma 2 and shogun 2 perfectly fine on my end. Windows 8 for me, no contest

Oh I see. I do not consider those as specific UI parts so I call Aero the Glass UI.

I think it was rubbish and that the new interface looks far more clean, but that's personal taste I guess. biggrin.gif

Yeah, that's a matter of taste, I too wasn't very optimistic about it in the beginning, but I don't mind it now.

My point is - there is no point in denying access to a feature, even if Microsoft considers this feature to be no longer be recommended. The justification was "It's dated". Well maybe some people still like it, why shut it off completely? I can't understand that..
Just disabling it by default would be completely enough, they could even just remove it from control panel, but so that you can still enable it via registry if you wish... I don't know smile.gif Just streaming thoughts biggrin.gif

I got a dilemma,
I don't mind spending £25 for the upgrade of Win8 pro - however, my question is:
If I don't like it, and want to downgrade, and install my win7 home premium edition (via cd) - what happens to my win8 key and download?
Still valid...or?

Also, if it is valid, could I give it to my mum for example?

that's what I'm thinking - but each time I read into win7 downgrades...there seems to be problems somewhere or another.

In fact - what's so special about Win8 - apart from a useless screen that I won't even use? lol
I'm curious as to actual performance.

Ignore the direct X11.1 support thing.

Well windows 8 is basicly a faster windows 7 with a tablet interface which I dislike but is easly solved by a program like Start8. so my vote goes to W8
