So far so good with different ram. I have a single 4GB ripjawz module in there at the stock 1600.
Would this affect my GPUs from using boost frequency? They normally go over 1300 but are stuck at 1019, which is stock I think.
Also the single stick of RAM seems to be lowering my FPS by at least 40fps. Is this also normal?
Thanks.

Set the CPU to maximum clock manually disable APM ,CnQ ,C6 and turbo core.
Never played the games you are talking about but my 4100 is perfectly ok in W7 and XP in Steam (CS;S ,CS:GO ,DOD:S,Dirt 3)..

Was going to say that.

I would highly recommend running some version of linpack (IBT, LinX) to test your main ram. Maybe try running at 9-9-9-24-1T-1333-1.5v on your main ram.

It's this stuff.
It passes a lot of memtest passes at stock.
And also clocked at 1800.

That's right.
I have just had a crash with the other RAM.
Difficult for me to tell from this what caused it. No messages like 'Display driver stopped working' or anything like that.
It just froze then went to a black screen. The music continued to play though.
I had to Ctr, Alt, Del to get task manager up.
I might have had enough of this for today. It's been going on for over a week now and I have tried so many things.
Thanks for all the help. If anyone thinks of anything else please do post it.
I will try linpack and see what results I get.

Cheers.

Things have gotten worse. In game I'm now getting the same FPS in SLI as I do with a single card. Yet both are showing up in Nvidia control panel etc.
Sigh.
