Dual boot

Thread Starter
I am not sure how this one would go. Right now I am dual booting windows 7 and windows 8. Lets just say for some reason later on I decide to get rid of the windows 7 partition. How would I stop my machine from wanting to dual boot? Mind you I really like where they went with windows 8. The os itself is actually fun to use, i enjoy using it. So I will eventually get rid of the windows 7 installation. any info would be great.thumb.gif

You'll need to get an BCD modifier and change the bootloader to see only the windows 8 partition and then format the windows 7 partition

I think there is one called Easy BCD that could do it for you.

EasyBCD is a nice app but you can also Windows msconfig tool , start msconfig using run command box (Win + R)

Before deleting the Windows 7 Entry from there , make sure Windows 8 is set as default OS .

Not sure about that since you'll not change the bootloader itself. So he could end up clearing his windows 7 partition and ending up with an unbootable machine.

agreed also depends on which OS he installed first Windows 7 or Windows 8 .. if its windows 7 then i think EasyBCD would be good choice
