Right, because most gamers are desperate.  Myself included.  If at all possible, I'd like to play the game the best way it can be played, which is usually PC.  But because I'm a gamer, I'll be so desperate to play the game I'll have to end up getting it on the console.  It's happened before and it'll happen again.  I just get irritated when I spent all this money to play games in high quality, and then developers and publishers completely ignore all of the fans who want to buy their game on the platform they're into.
It just happens over and over again where PC fans get shafted.  The game will probably come out eventually for PC (after we've already broken down and bought it for consoles), and will be absolute garbage just like GTA 4 was on PC, and if it doesn't sell, they'll say "see, there's no market on PC" and not bother making PC versions in the future (like with Red Dead).  If it's garbage and it DOES sell, they'll continue to put out garbage console ports because they know they don't have to work hard.  It's a lose-lose situation; there's no reason for developers to make a high quality PC version of a game except out of the kindness of their own hearts, which is uncommon.

People said the same thing about GTA IV, that it will never come to PC etc. rolleyes.gif I almost bought a console because of it. GTA games have been released like this since GTA III: console first, PC 6-12 months later. Of course I would prefer that PC would be the lead version and then downscaled to consoles but situation is not going to change.

I will wait patiently for the superior version, GTA IV on consoles was almost unplayable mess performance and graphics wise.

No they aren't. They're hardcore gamers bro. I game for gamings sake because gaming makes my games game. Gaming is my passion. So game on.

Bloody fantastic post.

Thought you might like that.

what is a hardcore gamers

Paratrooper1n0.

Making me look glamorous I see. I have my faults, but yeah, I agree with the second statement. When I see fellow gamers that show respect to all I feel happy. When I see fanboys hating anything that is not on their prefered platform, it makes me sad and/or angry. The close minded mentality just pisses me off.

Buy Console + Game. Problem solved.

Pretty much this.

And PC gamers are pretentious douchebags that have a horrid god complex.

It goes both ways. You can hate consoles/PCs all you want, but by making stupid generalizations like that, you're no better than the people you insult. rolleyes.gif

And this.

Those theories are interesting. Quite indeed. They need a profit or they cannot continue. Developing for the PC is risky, you are not guaranteed profit. Most of the time with consoles, you are guaranteed some profit. If you put $5,000,000 into a game you could sell 200,000 copies and make a profit at retail game prices.

Well, if they go that route, I'm not even going to get a bootleg console copy. Sorry Rockstar, but after spending money on GTA4 for PS3 and seeing how crappy that looked, I'm going to save my money. If Its PC I'll buy it, and if its console only, I'll save myself from alot of headaches and walk away.

TBH, people seem to over exaggerate how difficult GTA IV is to run on PC. I'm doing fairly well with the game at high settings. IDK about the story, but I enjoyed it.

It only took a slew of patches and tweaks and voodoo dances to get it to that point and many still have issues with it. The game shipped broken period. Case Closed.

Why would anyone want V on PC? Because Max Payne proved that Rockstar has refined and worked with the Rage engine enough to make an optimized game with it. Even the expansions ran better than the base game.

And I doubt GTA V will end up like that on PC, hypothetically speaking. I'm sure R* learned from their mistakes, and considering it was the first GTA on the RAGE engine, you can't really expect a fully polished game at launch.
