Yep, should be fine as long as you don't go over 90C or so.

But I do recommend better cooling if you're gonna go for 4.5ghz thumb.gif

care to further elaborate? if that is high then what would be a good temp to keep an eye out for? Only reason I ask is because after reading that overclocking guide it said exactly what I asked about keeping the temps below 80-85c. But it seemed high to me as well but since I have no clue I'd like to ask before diving in.

You should try and keep the CPU under 60c, maybe 70c tops. with a good cooler, this should be a breeze.
If you keep the temps below 85C you'll be fine, personally I'd try not to go above 80C.

What kind of load are you talking about? 60C is totally unrealistic and much too limiting for stress testing (Prime95 or IBT). For Ivy Bridge, anything in the 70s is completely fine under full load, and even low-80s is okay. The limiting temp is 105C, so even 85C is still 20 degrees away from what Intel considers unsafe (in that at that point it'll throttle to lower the temp). I wouldn't run it there all the time, but for stress testing it is fine, since gaming/load temps will normally be at least 10C lower, often more.

Depends on what you use your rig for....
When stress testing, anything below 90c is ok. And if it goes over that, your CPU will throttle down anyway.
But a general rule is, once you hit 90c but is stable, lower your multi by one and your vcore by a small notch and you're good to go. Or invest in a better cooler...

I Mainly use my rig for gaming, very rarely do I render and edit videos. I don't do anything aside from that. Gaming, gaming, and more gaming.

If you get 85c when stress testing, you'll hit around 55-60c after hours of single player gaming with heavy titles (like BF3 & MP3), multiplayer might take it up to 65c tops ...

That'd be a lot of heat coming out of my case. GPU sits around 60c and if the CPU is doing the same wont need a heater this winter tongue.gif
