Help Yawa pick a Video card

Thread Starter
The final steps of my ultra budget, poor person, rig is complete. Everything you see in my computer I managed to scrounge together over the last year with a very, very, minimal budget. I stuck with AMD when I got the GD 970-UD3 board for less than $100 bucks, because at one point I had a very bad experience at Microcenter that left me with 2 AMD 965 Phenom II X4's, (So really, it wasn't that bad) Of which I promptly sold one of to get the money back for the board. I also figured the AM3+ would both hold me over, and future proof me a bit, till Piledriver.

Everything you see I'm extremely proud of, because when I tell you I built this rig with literally no overhead, I mean it. So now that I can be a little more frugal, I need help with a video card solution. I intend to stick AMD (but by all means try to sell me on a Nvidia solution if that's your thing) and my budget is about $150 to $200 (I have the clearance rack at Microcenter to search, which occasionally houses higher end cards for fairly cheap, like an open box 6950 for $149) . Obviously my current solution leaves a lot to be desired, and while these 6770's scale great in crossfire, I'm of the it's better to have stronger single cards solution, and only like crossfire as a last resort.

Help me out guys. Let me know what you would do.

A couple suggestions:
$10 over, but a good card. Sapphire 7850 2GB
Asus 7850 2GB
You are pretty limited to 7850, to be honest - unless you can find something at a microcentre as you say.

Thats not a poor man's rig at all lol. Its a very decent build mate thumb.gif
Since you're gaming @ 1080p, 6950 for 150$ sounds really good.
Or you can sell the 6770 for 50$, add that 150$ and get the 7850 which performs better than the 6950 with the latest 12.11b drivers.
This comparison is with the older drivers, so expect 5-10% increase in performance of the 7850:

OP get the PCS+ HD 7850 2GB clocked at 1 GHZ. price 200 bucks. With the 12.11 drivers out of the box this card will be faster than HD 6970 and will match GTX 660. HD 7850 is around 8 % slower than HD 7870 at the same clocks. nice free game coupon for Farcry 3 . thumb.gif
