128 GB SSD and 1T HDD should hold you over for at least the better part of a year with moderate housekeeping. I made a 128 GB SSD never go past 75% capacity on my MacBook Pro for over two years with heavy housekeeping and due diligence.

In my MacBook Pro, I ran with only SSD for the better part of two years. Just recently I upgraded it to a 256GB Hyper X SSD and replaced the optical drive with a 500GB HDD. (The 128 was feeling pretty small)

As far as desktops go, you could run solo SSD for a little while and be completely fine. A friend of mine has one SSD in his tower and multiple external HDDs. He managed the space on the SSD pretty well and just adds external HDD when he needs more space.

For your proposed purchase (128GB SSD & 1TB HDD), you'll be more than fine with gaming, browsing, ect. By the time you fill it up with normal usage, the prices will have dropped low enough to add another same size SSD for a lot less.

I have the Cooler Master 212 Evo and it is a great cooler. I would say, do not spend more money on a heat sink because the 212 is awesome for 35 bucks. It dropped my prime95 temps around 10C overall. My 965 BE @ 3.6 does not go over 54C under full load and with my new fan set up in the case it dropped to around 51C under full load. (The stock AMD cooler idled around 65-67C under full load). Just my two cents.

Also, as for the SSD, I see a lot of buzz around these forums and other web sites about the Samsun 830/840, they have been getting great reviews for performance and reliability. I do not have an SSD in my rig at the moment so I can only pass on what I have read/seen. Good luck. So far it looks like a great build. Cheers.
