3770K has arrived! GPU block has arrived in the country, so should have that in a day or two biggrin.gif

Highly undecided about what way to go with fittings though. Not sure if I should give barbs a go or buy compressions. Issue with the fittings is no where seems to stock enough BP matte black 3/8 - 5/8s

Any real negatives about using barbs? (if I go barbs, will not be using clamps as they look ugly) 1/2 barb with 7/16 tubing seems to be the norm or if I was to go 5/8 barbs with 3/8 - 5/8 tubing would it be safe enough without clamps?

any insight would be appreciated

Nice that you're going for Bitspower fittings. As for running barbs without clamps, that could be dangerous, imo.

Edit:
Seems that I recall a build using barbs without clamps that did look damn good:

Maybe it's worth the risk!

yeah seems most build ive seen with barbs are clampless and look very nice. Perhaps ill give it a go and run the risk. If its done on MDPC then anyone can do it biggrin.gif hahaha

Trouble with compressions is that they're sometimes too big in tight spots. That's a problem I'm running into with my 1/2" x 3/4'' comps., barbs are so much sleeker than comps.
I've had to keep ordering more fittings, like extensions, because of that. I was originally thinking of going with barbs:rolleyes:

But they should look good for your "r-r-r-rebuild"! Maybe somebody like B Neg. can advise what size tubing to squeeze over the barbs, I have no clue. Heat up the tubing, I've heard!

yeah I know, I used 1/2 - 3/4 initially and didnt really like them, far too bulky. I have 2 3/8 - 5/8 fittings at the moment and they are much nicer. Think ill just go barbs and try my luck. Saves a lot of money as well going barbs.

What's his face from NCIX created a watercooled build using barbs, using a hose with an inner diameter (ID) which was smaller than the barb. He dipped the end of the hose into boiling water to soften up the plastic, then placed the hose on the barb.

If you can pull it off, it gives a unified look which does not take from the other parts in your build.

Linus ..... Yea that method works I did it trying to get 7/16 inch tubing on 1/2 barbs it was actually pretty hard since the tubing was pretty bad
