Hitman : Absolution Performance Issues and Concerns - Page 2

I ran the benchmark on ultra settings at 1920x1080 and got an average of 29 fps. Game looks great for me, no problems on the tutorial mission. I'm also using the nvidia 306.97 on Win 8 Pro 64 bit - system in my sig.

A GTX590 with 29fps?

I feel like smashing my head into the wall.

Try the new beta drivers, they have the SLI profile for Hitman. Also the benchmark is incorrect for me. The game runs much different after tweaking the settings in-game.

After I turned down reflections and turned SSAO off my system ran great. 5760x1080 ultra/high FXAA stayed around 120fps.
There was a weird error in the setting, they would revert back by themselves. I would have to be in-game. Turn settings to lowest, save, & the build up the settings again from there. Loving the game so far. thumb.gif
Yeah yeah thats what I meant. 310.61. Thats the one I am running and the game runs like poop on it and on 310.54.

Agreed. I am so sick and tired of this poor port business its not funny. One after the other. I am almost afraid to play AC3 as i fear I shall break something expensive if that one doesn't work properly either.

Yes there seems to be something wrong with the settings function, with my setup at least. When I pause and put in-game settings to lowest. It will say game need to restarted to take effect of some settings. Just stay in game and put the setting back up to ultra exept reflections to med or low. You can see each settings go back up to ultra/high if you do them one by one. That's what I did to find the reflection setting giving me the performance problem.

After I do that in-game fix my performance is extremely higher than the official benchmark. Something wrong with the benchmark I get similar performance between ultra FXAA & lowest settings. Lowest only being 10-15% higher. When I change in game setting to lowest I get a huge 400% increased performance. Then I build the setting back up with reflection low-med. Pain in the butt, but its a fix for me at least.

This was on 310.54. Downloading 310.61 now.

The first mission seems to be the roughest on the FPS. Subsequest missions (at the keast the 3 more that I have plauyed) are a bit better. The game is just so beautiful i just hope that Nvidia comes up with some better drivers to address the inherent disadvantages of DirectCompute with the 6xx series.

LOL - no worries, I thought it was funny too. I've been playing Assassins Creed quite a bit more and I've decided to put Hitman aside for a while in order to allow for driver updates and game patches to try to resolve any issues with what is essentially a great game that is absolutely not optimized for PC in its current form.
