Do you have any problems fitting the 295s in their primary slots with the SB block in place??

BTW, my skulltrail board was 'new' (never used) and it was pretty difficult to get the original NB off. The old thermal grease was pretty much dried out harder that supa glue...

I would suggest that anyone building a skully from a stored d5400xs mobo should remove and re-grease the NB passive heatsink (or even better, put it under water!!).

Watch out for the DD blocks... If it is just for the theme then by all means go for it, but you should know that they don't perform well... I would personally get an EK block that is copper and acrylic so that it matches but performs quite a bit better

Thx... I had a look around, its hard to find an EK waterblock for a 480. I almost blocked one of my 7800 GTXs because I found the PERFECT DD water block, but I figured that would be WAY TOO retro... so I'll go with the 480. BTW, some of the water blocks for older cards can be picked up very cheaply!!

The GTX 480 is a pretty damn good card, but it is a heat pig, so putting it under water will make the rig a lot quieter and it will sort of close to stay with the 'retro' theme.

The Skully was never a great pixel pushing macine, and what I want out of this rig is the 8 REAL cores with lots of bandwidth to push data to them.... so its the RAID that is central to the build.
