First build - Page 2

Building as you go (spreading out over months) is a terrible plan because by the time you actually have the machine together, the amount you spent could have been used on newer tech or lower priced higher model components. The "as you go" approach will mean that on final assembly, a number of the parts in the build will be out of their 30 day return period, so if you have any defective parts, you'll be stuck dealing with the manufacturer with often longer turn-around times and other potential hassles. Furthermore, a purchase of a particular part at one time may lock the build in a particular direction that may loose value/favor in the market as you wait for the funds to proceed.

Put money away until you have a lumps sum that you are comfortable parting with for the build. $700-1400 is a good range to be in for a custom build that will be made from quality high performance components without going "overboard" into poor value territory.

Here's two sim~build for gaming, which can help you decide, I dont know if this is the best place online on your country, but it is current price. The first setup is for budget gamers & the second is an overclockable Xfire capable setup, some items can still go cheap without performance loss, other component you have to upgrade as per you preference or downgrade as you wish but you have to pay attention to some brands & look for good reviews. Other than this, just dont be lazy to look for better deals to save and get your money worth.

As Mdocod said, buying your components as you go would be a pretty bad idea since technology changes as such a fast pace and by the time you've bought the last part for your build there will probably be already much much better components out there, so it's best to just set yourself a budget and save for it then go out and buy the parts you want. thumb.gif

Good luck! thumb.gif
