Worrying events with my 7950, any thoughts? - Page 2

I had that problem, changed to Sapphire Trixx and it went away.

Basically with the newer drivers AB downclocks / undervolts the card too much at idle, causing artifacts on the desktop.

You can set seperate 2D and 3D profiles in AB and then tell it to go to the 3D clocks when certain programs run, but that was too much effort for me. You could also check the "force constant voltage" in AB, I beleive that also fixes the problem.

Thank you for your response! Yes, I've also been trying Sapphire Trixx, and I like it a lot more. Problem is I have to use MSI Afterburner if I want to overvolt (at least that's my impression). I'll try the constant voltage trick to see if it works

Thank you for your response! Yes, I did. And it seems now the majority believe this is the problem. I will try that, I will also try to force constant voltage as suggested.. See if that fixes it. smile.gif

"Force constant voltage" in the settings menu won't help (at least it didn't for my brother), you have change that config thing to a "2" .

Or use sapphire Trixx, pretty sure there must be an option somewhere to unlock the voltage control.

Trixx allows you to overvolt - it actually lets me go 0.05v higher than AB on my card.

You have to scroll down the settings, and the scroll bar is not too obvious.

Wow, thank you for these suggestions!

I feel pretty stupid now.. Should have done some more research into Trixx.. Then again that scroll bar is REALLY obscure and difficult to notice. biggrin.gif
