The internet is a luxury, not a necessity. Why should I require the internet to unlock the full abilities of my mouse?
What happens when they have problems with the activation servers and I cannot activate the DRM? This leaves my mouse limited, this happened at release by the way.
It's a big deal because it is not needed in the slightest. It may only take 30 seconds to sign up but I should not have to go on the internet and register my mouse in order to use its features, that's just dumb.
What next, register my boiler online before I can heat my house? Register my lamp before I can have light?
You may think it's ludicrous, but that is exactly what this is. There is no requirement to access the internet to use a mouse, therefor it quite simply should not be needed.

Fair enough. Exactly the type of response I was looking for.

This thread has turned into a Synapse debate and it's rather disgusting considering that the level of hate isn't justified, at all. Every product ever released is entitled to criticism, but the level of criticism here is absurb. Razer has been nothing but open with their customers since this whole debate opened up.

That is not even remotely relevant!

Last I checked, the internet was required to use forums.

I've been using my mice for years without requiring an internet connection. I've been changing the DPI on my mice for years without installing software.

Quit making out like everyone is immature, there is a legitimate reason why people are disappointed here.

The needless whining is very much so immature. Instead of talking down Razer like they are the devil, these people with issues should be on the Razer forums/Facebook publicly displaying their opinion. Razer seems to respond very well to criticism.

The only thing wrong with Synapse is that the sync/registration isn't optional. It should be, I agree -- but in this day and age it really isn't a problem. I'd make the feature request but I wouldn't whine on here every time Razer comes up in a news story rolleyes.gif

I had considered buying this mouse, even knowing I might not like the weight/shape of it. Synapse 2.0 pushed me away from it though.

You have hundreds of stupid logins these days, it's really annoying. I really do not want to create another login for a piece of hardware. What were they thinking? Already have too many logins, they are a pita to keep count of, remember, privacy concern, etc..

Shame if this is the way market is headed towards. I'll keep boycotting everyone who does this, until they get rid of it.

I'd agree, but seeing as Synapse 2.0 is a feature of this mouse, I don't think it's wrong that people are expressing their opinion in this thread.

Are you insinuating that people should only express positive opinions in threads relating to product announcements?

I mentioned the level of hate, not hate in general thumb.gif

It's a little over the top when you come into a debate with a pitchfork and a tinfoil hat. A lot of these people are also misinformed.. had they read into the topic at all they would know about offline mode and how responsive Razer is being on the topic. Their argument isn't totally moot, I agree, but once again the level of hate is just unfounded-

I don't see an issue with the synapse 2.0 I tell it not to start up when the PC boots and that cut out all the lag it seems to create but the drivers are still on there so the mouse and keyboard still work perfectly well. As for this new DA, it looks identical in shape to my mamba. Would not buy.
TBH, I usually hate razer products. This mouse looks alot like a shorter DA 3.5 , which I like, and I am really liking the side grips as well.

The only reason im not going to buy this mouse is for the lack of ON BOARD profiles. Logitech has them, roccat has them, tons of other mice have on board memory for profiles and macros with out the need for the dang software. Synapse basically ruined any hope I had for buying a razer product.

No but there's difference in talking about why certain features are good and bad. Such as build quality, sensor and drivers, warranty, etc. versus just saying company is terrible because of one feature of a product. Focus on talking about the product not the company.

Its like saying apple is bad cause I have to install iTunes, or dice is bad cause I don't like battle log, or valve is bad cause tf2 was good but Cs:source is bad, Microsoft sucks cause they released vista..

We lose sight of assessing the product cause we just hate on the company too fast. They all done good and bad things, but be more objective in the pros and cons rather that say "they suck" or "this is stupid" as there more to the mouse that could be terrible or good other than just the drivers.

This product uses Synapse 2.0!

Therefor complaining about the software is related to the product, not just the company itself.

Registering my mouse online to enable DPI changes makes about as much sense as registering my GPU online in order to use 3D mode.

People have a right to be angry at Razer for this.
