I hooked up my Black Edition to see if I could feel a difference and I do feel a slight difference. There is enough lag in the 2013 for me to feel slightly disappointed. I even uninstalled Synapse to see if that would change anything. It didn't. It still had the same lag to it. I sure hope this is something that can be fixed with a firmware update or something. I'd like to know if anyone else has this issue with the 2013.
EDIT: Why would Razer put out a sequel to a popular mouse with better specs, better ergonomics, but not have it be as responsive as its predecessors?
What mousepad are you using? You may have to calibrate the mouse.

Is it quick and easy to create an account and start using your mouse? Yes.

Should it be a necessity? Absolutely not.

I think that's the point people are making here.
I have a DeathAdder 3.5G, and although I find Synapse 2.0 pointless, it's really not a problem.
I've been inconvenienced much worse than taking 20 seconds to signup for a service such as this.

my girlfriend just bought me the mouse.

i've only ever had:

mx510 - 7 years
rat 7 - 1 year
ouroboros - 1 week

i have to say this has been the most solid mouse i have ever used. the ouroboros was a good mouse, but it ran out of battery way too fast.. i felt like i had to always charge it all the time. it was a well put together mouse, however it would tweak out when i would change the dpi. also when i come from idle, the mouse would be very slow at first, then it will come back to normal.

i only mention this because that was my first razer mouse experience and i quickly returned it. but this new deathadder 2013 is amazing. i created macros for dpi changing on my keyboard for it, and it does not in anyway stutter like the ouroboros did. the mouse is very light considering i was used to the rat 7 with full weights, but it glides very well as if there was barely any resistance at all. synapse hasn't bothered me at all. it just opens and stays open without me doing anything to it. so far i haven't noticed any changes in the behavior of the mouse even if i lose internet connection while synapse is running.

the tracking reminds me of my mx510 for some reason. even though i do use 1800, 3500 and 6400 dpi, it feels very smooth and precise. the rat felt as if it was "gliding" with my hand, it never really felt that i had control over the movement. i'm no mouse expert, but i can definitely tell when playing bf3 if i have full control of where i am shooting or if i am gliding my gun towards that spot. overall, this mouse is solid. i also tried lifting my mouse as if i was swiping to turn, and in BF3 it didn't even make my screen stutter at all.

overall i probably would buy this mouse again, and i hope i won't have to anytime soon.

p.s. the texture of the mouse is the same as the ouroboros. it is this rough-ish texture that is very comfortable to the touch. its feels as if it would absorb moisture or something.. im not quite sure and im too scared to touch it with wet hands biggrin.gif

I calibrated the mouse using the default setting for the Razer Vespula (the mousepad I have) in Synapse then tested it for awhile and I tried manually calibrating it with Synapse and tested that for awhile. I haven't seen any improvement.

It doesn't at all feel like it might be lagging behind your movements?

No and I have used those 3 dpi settings on different games . I use a Goliathus control mouse pad. It tracks so well its insane. I'll post an update again in a few days

They were available on Razer's website but last I checked are now showing a shipping delay of 2-3 weeks which sucks because I was going to get one for Christmas.

Wow, I think they fixed my complaints with my Deathadder Black, the rubberized top was getting on my nerves after a while, and the flat rubber side grips weren't comfortable after long periods. Definitely need to pick up one of these.

Can you turn off the green led? And have no light at all...
