Durable mechanical keyboard

Thread Starter
I bought the thermaltake meka g1, I cleaned it with alcohol and the paint of the structure wore off. The build quality seems ok but the paint sucks.
I was planning to get other keyboard that really shows its durability, (I will paint it with matte car paint) I was thinking in 6gv2 but I heard that the keycaps go off the keyboard while gaming.
In conclusion, what keyboard should i get ? (I want cherry black and PS2 nkro full sized).

That's odd. Did you use 99% Isopropyl alcohol or ethyl alcohol. Or Everclear?

I recently bought a Filco Majestouch 2 for my second mechanical keyboard. I formerly had the Corsair K60. This thing is as solid as they come. It weighs literally like 6LB.

They are Japanese-made and are supposedly the best of the best when it comes to mechanical keyboards.

As far as NKRO, it is a USB keyboard but Filco claims this:
Quote:
[A true N-key rollover]
It is the functionality by which all the typed keys are recognized on the PC,
evenwhen many keys are typed simulteneously.
All the keys typed simulteneously are recognized on the PS/2.
(Limited to 6 keys typed simulteneously for the USB due to the specifications of USB.)
A completely dedicated electronic circuitry to this model !
On our models a diode is soldered on the printed circuit for every key switch to prevent from countercurrency.

[Compatiblity with USB and PS/2]
A USB cable is connected to the keyboard. Plug&Play is available on each Windows system.
A PS/2 interface is also available to use the PS/2 Conversion Adapter included in the package

Here is a link to the full size 104-key Cherry MX Black model:

Seconding Filco, I have one and it's very well built. Leopold is virtually identical to Filco as well, except it has slightly more rounded edges.

I used ethyl. I was surprised when I saw the painting wearing off xD.

I'm planning to take off the structure of the keyboard and painting it with matte paint for cars.

Yeah, the paint on the Meka G1 is not very durable. I noticed the lettering on my WASD keys fading after only a month of use. A little clear fingernail polish put a stop to that tho'.

Sorry to hear about your keyboard mate but IPA will remove paint . When I had an accident with a bottle of Lucozade and my Razer Blackwidow i thought it was totally buggered. Grabbed some isopropyl alcohol from work and a syringe and injected it into each of the switches and continualy pressed them for about 10 minutes while holding it upside down to get the excess out. After letting it dry on the radiator for a few hours and repeating once more it was working perfect again.

Just to clarify, he means radiator as in the heater in his house. It's one of those European things thumb.gif

People here will probably think you put it on your watercooling rad, haha.
