well I couldn't find the one on here but here is one...
I've also seen people say to put in your windows disk and run a "repair windows" session and that should help...
then I've also had friends swap out 2500k/z68 setups with 990/fx8150
and claim to have NO problems (this was on win 7 ultimate)

I agree clean install is always best, but I understand the frustration of not always having those install files with you (disk imaging FTW...usually)
worse comes to worst just back everything up and try it...if it fails...well clean install...if not your good.
