AMD FX Build - under $600 [Video Editing CS6 and Blender 3D] - Page 19

Oh, yeah, grab a good psu for your build and use it meanwhile, you could also grab the cpu cooler, ram and gpu before swapping mobo and cpu. Ditch those once you buy the new stuff (resell here or in fleabay/craigslist) and keep the psu/ssd/gpu/ram.

An overclocked 820 quad is prettyy decent btw, but an oem psu surely sucks...

Ok I think i'll get a SSD first, and then see how things work out. I wonder if they have any good used like gtx550s, since they have a little bit of cuda acceleration, but should be pretty cheap

For gpus, which would be better, a twin frozr 560 ti 2gb for $140 or a 569 ti 1.25gb 448 cuda for $160

But what about for the cuda acceleration (Which is most of what I will be using it for, mercury playback engine in premiere pro and ae)? Would the extra cores benefit me? Also, I looked around on the buy and sell/trade here, would an older gtx480 or 470 be good? I looked at some benchmarks and aparantly a gtx 480 preforms nearly as well as a gtx 570 or 580 (http://www.dslrfilmnoob.com/wp-content/uploads/Nvidia-GTX-Mercury-Performance-chart.jpg)
Would a gtx480 be good for $160? Or would a gtx 560 ti 448 or a ti 2gb be better? I guess the twin frozr 2gb one would be best, but you'd think the extra cuda cores would be good, right?

480 would be better, but noisy and really HOT! Hard to overclock, vs the 560 ti 2gb that can easily clock a lot with the twin frozr cooler.
Up to you, but I'd go with the newer card with more vram...Overclocked 560 ti/ti 448 and 480, the stock 480 would lose but only at stock, not sure how far it would oc on the stock cooler so I'm not sure it's worth it, plus the 560 ti 2gb would help with gaming till you can afford a better newer replacement (perhaps wait for gtx780?)

The 480 is on par with the 570. The difference is the 480 has more VRAM, runs hotter, uses more power.

If you are debating between a 480 and a 560Ti, the 480 is easily the winner if you can manage the extra power/heat/noise.

Well I have heard that the gtx560 ti 448 is pretty much a gtx570 in a different label (also if you look at the specs they're really similar, 320 bit, 1.2gb vram, around same cuda cores, etc)

The 560Ti 448 is actually a hindered GTX 570. (defective cuda cores have been lasered) A 480 will outperform it.
