AMD FX Build - under $600 [Video Editing CS6 and Blender 3D] - Page 5

Holy crap I just found the 3770k for $220 at micro center. Would that be much better than the 8320?

$220 for a 3770K is a steal, and if you can get a Gigabyte Z77 UD3H since I think they may have a combo deal with them(I know there was when I went there 2weeks ago). You would be better off getting a 3770K rather than a 8320. 8350/8320 are great chips but $220 for a 3770K is to good to pass up.

@ qzyxya

FX-8320 is basically the FX-8350 and FX-8350 is in the 3770K's ballpark in terms of multitasking like video encoding.
I don't know about mobo for 3770K - probably you'll have pay more than in the case of FX.

Nope. The 3770K is $229 and you get a a combo deal with a Gigabyte Z77 UD3H for $95, according to Microcenters November Catalog. Complete Steal.

Holy crap thats amazing. Thank you all so much for the help in this 5 page thread.
Can't find that motherboard for $95 anymore. What kind of motherboard should I get? Would the more expensive ones ($200 ish) be beneficial or could I just get a $100 one. Also does the 3770k overclock well?

damn good price. that's one helluva chip for 220 bucks. get a cheap z77 board. it doesn't need to be anything beefy coz they don't really require that good vrm's. a cheap cooler and OC it to 4.2ghz-4.4ghz (I even had a 4.2ghz OC on my stock cooler) performance would be unbeatable for the price. I wish we had microcenters here in manila frown.gif

it looks horrible and cheap but it's more than enough for the 3770k. intel chips run "cooler" so they don't need beefy coolers
