Funny enough to see this as just monday I called them to see if they would price match the samsung 5300 40" tv from amazon and they gave me some garbage about not price matching during Thanksgiving week because of black friday even though she would confirm that the samsung would not be on sale during black friday wth.gif . I simply laughed and put the phone down and thought " no wonder they are getting outsold by amazon".

it this 50cent's ?

they already dig down the grave so to get out of there will be very difficulty. I do remember when best buy had the door open in US , hey prices was so good in every products in they shelf's prices for every class of people. but down the road they decide to do some face lift and they did lift they prices and forgot who bought the product's in the beginner. now they face what they created. only thing I have to say now is Good lucky.

They did for me this week on a couple of USB cables I was looking for. The price on the shelf was $29.99. When the sales guy came up and asked if I had found what I needed I said yes but not at that price. I told him I could buy the same thing online for $5.00 shipped to my house. He asked me to wait while he went over to the register. He came back and said they would match that price. I was shocked. He said they would match online pricing in some cases. I paid $5.00 each for 2. I'll have to try that again.

Of course, they got a good $29.00~ of negotiating room considering the cable costs less then a dollar and they probably got boxes of them sitting in the storeroom collecting dust. Selling those two cables to you at reduced price practically paid for an entire box of 10-30 USB cables depending on length and gauge. thumb.gif

They'll probably expand to more states once Best Buy is gone (hopefully), maybe even buy up former BB real estate. Having been in one Microcenter once, it's a hell of a place.

That's interesting, other than having cheap CPU's and more PC components, Microcenter is typically higher than BB on most products. They also mark up their cables to insane margins just the same. It's not like Microcenter really does much different, it's that BB has a stigma now. Also, the sales staff at the Microcenter near me are just as much of a joke as BB, if not moreso, YMMV

True, and 9 times out of 10 their customer service is horrific and the sales people have no clue what they are talking out. In every store there about 4 people out of all the staff that are true assets, but sometimes they don't outweigh the morons who say stuff like "more rails on a PSU is better" rolleyes.gif
