I'll let both explore what the world offers and they can decide what they want to do as a hobby. Who knows, maybe one of them will pick it up from me. My eldest is more prone to play around with my tools and doesn't come near "daddy's toys" biggrin.gif

Hehe, I did get approval. Going to buy 12 more R4s and a new fan controller with higher wattage per channel. Finally, Im going to buy a few rolls of TechFlex Cleancut sleeve. I'm tired of paracord's short comings. Its a more pita to install compared to the ease of Cleancut. More expensive but I've used the Cleancut before and I like to work with it and how it looks.

Still very busy with life's new adventures so there will be no updates atm. I'm still hoping Zotac will ship my card this week.

No activity due to being really busy with the new baby. Damn, i forgot how hard it is with newborns. Props to the ladies who have to work even harder to tend to the tiny ones thumb.gif

Anyways, waiting for tax-return and i have a few more mods and upgrades pending. Tossing around the idea of getting three Korean 1440s for Surround but I have a lot of doubts (mainly dead pixels and light bleed) since I really don't want to spend too much.

Other then that, I'm still adding some final touches to the loop. Ordered one of these guys:

(Big thanks to FrozenQ for their great assistance!).

I'll be ordering another one later on. Push/pull is still on hold. i need to find a robust enough controller to handle all the fans I'll be running (28 in total, most i have used in one build).

Nope frown.gifmad.gif I even sent their customer service an email and they quote 1-2 business day for a response. That was four business days ago. I'm really annoyed and if this is how they do their warranties now, I'm no longer inclined to recommend them (let alone consider them). There chat systems is always offline at all times. Really not happy but at least my new Sniper3 oc's better then the first one. I've downloaded the Crysis 3 demo to play around with it this weekend (if I have time frown.gif).

Some good and bad news frown.gif

I got a reply from Zotac and explained to them my RMA was waiting approval for replacement. They confirmed my Fermi was overheating (duh rolleyes.gif). Sadly, they don't have GTX 580 3GB in stock sad-smiley-002.gif

The goods news (though still kinda of lame) is that they've offered me a GTX 670 4GB which I just went ahead and accepted frown.gif

I had a feeling this could have happened. I'm approaching another crossroad:

-keep the 670, sell the 580s, and buy two more 670s (maybe three biggrin.gif).
-sell the 670 and buy another 580 3gb
-Sell everything and go quad 7970s or sli 690 biggrin.gif

Let me know what you guys think smile.gif

This made me laugh haha. "I reluctantly had to accept a 4GB 670" biggrin.gif

I wouldn't stay stuck with the 580s though (Unless it's for folding). 690s will underperform compared to quad-7970s by a substantial amount.

Ergo, tri/quad 670s or quad 7970s since they can be had for cheap nowadays (Sub $300, $400 with waterblock/backplate included)

I would say go 3x 670 or 3x 680. Or you could always sell everything and see what this titan crap is all about. I've been waiting for a real answer on what it is going to be and when its coming out. Im this close to buying another 680 and say screw it.

Lol, it is funny. I broke the news to the missus and she understands this is not my fault and said ok to go forward but no to go overboard (biggrin.gif).

I've had a bit of bad luck w/ 7970s and coil whine, but used ones are ~$300. Blocks will be expensive though. There's quite of few them out there so I have a lot of options (and possibilities of bad ones). Not many blocks used out there so that will be another bigger expensive.

The 670 4gb is a much more rare beast and Ive seen a few of them (mostly evga) out there for ~$300-350 used. Same as the 7970s, blocks (gtx 680) aren't plentiful so its another bigger expense.

Looks like GTX 580 3gbs have gone up a bit maybe because there's less of them. Still gonna mull this over today and the weekend smile.gif

The 600's series if Im not mistaken isn't going to touch the compute power you had on your 580's vs th 7970 which would do better. Like I said I might wait if I could however I think dual 690's would be nice. Less HEAT! lol

58s is close to the 670. I'm more inclined to go with the 7970s since I have the cooling and the power capacity for them...but....having had one with bad coil whine I'm not interested in going there. Plus, quad-fire is more sketchy then quad-sli. Wasn't there a recent driver upgrade that made quad-fire funky?
