690s only have 2 gb VRAM I'd stick with the 580s or get more 4gb 670s. thumb.gif

So far, I haven't pushed more then 1.8gb of vram with the quad 580s (Crysis 2). I have yet to fire up BF3 but I think its a bit overhyped so I'm in no rush to play it (having fun with CoD WaW biggrin.gif).

690s are pretty solid in Surround but I've read they will be hindered by larger resolutions (ie 1440p). Also, ppl are needing a very high clock to avoid bottlenecking a couple of 690s (from what I'm reading). Don't know yet but I wouldn't rule it out. I'm sure I can get my Sb to 4.9 with a little bit more effort.

7970 quadies are still iffy. Reading a few (and numerous) threads, seems like Amd address one thing but goofs up another thing. Hate to do this but I'm crossing it off my list frown.gif

I refuse to go 680 since Nvidia are being jerks w/ the whole voltage lock down thing. I had a couple of 590s and having not voltage adjustment sucks wackosmiley.gif

I've used 2.8gb VRAM with one cat leap high restextures and it will run over top 2gb VRAM.

One monitor.

Turn Max Payne 3 up you can use 2.4gb Vram on 1080i 2gb Vram is just not enough for the high end.. 3gb is a good number.

My Catleap was 260$ pixel perfect via Evga forums Market place.

Nice to see they now sell for 400$ + shipping lol... Id really like to just trade it for a 27inch 1080i 120hz panel..

Anyways, waiting for tax-return and i have a few more mods and upgrades pending. Tossing around the idea of getting three Korean 1440s for Surround but I have a lot of doubts (mainly dead pixels and light bleed) since I really don't want to spend too much.

Other then that, I'm still adding some final touches to the loop. Ordered one of these guys:

(Big thanks to FrozenQ for their great assistance!).

I'll be ordering another one later on. Push/pull is still on hold. i need to find a robust enough controller to handle all the fans I'll be running (28 in total, most i have used in one build).

Arqtick has a chainable fan controller which is pretty cool. Just don't know when the store will re-open, until then I can't get any info on it. Other cool thing is the fan speed can be based on the water temps. thumb.gif

There's a few "pixel perfect" Shimians for ~$340 shipped. Still not ready since I don't have perfect luck rolleyes.gif

Spread out over several gpus, vram usage per gpu will down. The less you have the more vram each will use. I'm obviously running three atm, might test the them in gauge vram usage.

I'm going to pick up an Fan-Atic (again tongue.gif); 60w per channel and triple mode: 0v, 5v, 12v. The R4s work quite well at 5v. I haven't ordered the R4s since Amazon is out of stock and the other sellers are pricier (I have an amazon gc i want to use there).
