Comes out to be the same if you pay the premium with sellers like "accessories whole". Not worth it imho. i would rather have the full backing of a large company tbh.

I still have the one 670 I'm trying to sell but no mb (rma it since the onboard vid was not working). Tax refund should be coming in any day now. 690s seems like a good option for 1080 Surround. Also, there's no need to buy four blocks thumb.gif

Btw, the guy shipped the block late so it won't get here until next week frown.gif.

Decided to pull the mid plexi plate and I discovered several holes on the aluminum mid plate. I figured this was gonna be there since the mid plate was most likely added by the case's original owner to reinforce it. I took it off since I wanted to replace the plexi midplate piece since that has a few extra holes that reall I don't need. I'm thinking of sandwiching that mid plate with a thick slab of plex below it and a black plexi piece above it.

time to go rummaging in the scraps bin at the local plastics company. I do have a large piece ~6mm of clear plexi i might use with some vinyl wrap. But I would rather save for a window some other project. Hmmm...maybe they have some green plexi biggrin.gif

edit: the damage:

Cables??? If you have seen some of my previous builds, they're a bit slow to come together wink.gif

I'm actually redoing the midplate. As I described a couple of posts back, its hacked up and so is the reinforcing plexi panel. I'm going to sandwich the mid plate with two pieces of 6mm thick plexi and make new (and less) holes to route cables and tubes. I'm far from cable management tbh.

Btw, I remember your cable management was a little, shall we say, all over the place biggrin.giftongue.gifwink.gif

Edit: just got my mb in wheee.gif

Any one have tips to bore out new holes in plexi? I could use a wood bit but that tens to easily crack the bottom part of the plexi. The plexi is too thick for a stepping bit. Thinking of making some 3/4 holes (in case if I decide to change tube.

edit: i have to use my hand drill. My father crippled the press drill.

Well these's the problem, everythings missing thats why you cant get the numbers... biggrin.gifthumb.gif

on the plexi, mid speed and light pressure, on a solid flat surface, try to almost melt the plexi instead of cut it, its worked for mine
