[Build Log] Monstas Inside! (Monsta rads, custom MM case, Titan SLI) - Page 45

I got my 690s at a great price. better then getting used quads and outfitting them with blocks. Since they perform ~95-98%, it was an easy decision. I had the option to get quad 680s w/ blocks but i felt the price was too high and the cards were modded so no warranty. That deal fell through. Anyways, these quads came up for sale and I just couldnt pass up the deal. Sure, I'm loosing the extra gig of vram and narrower bus compared to my old fermi setup, but the sheer grunt will make up for its short comings (I hope). I've toiled over what setup to get and I talked to a few owners for their thoughts. In the end, this was the best bang for my buck. With the extra cash I saved vs 4-way 680, I got the dell 1200s biggrin.gif.

Firing things up and so far the gpu(s) are idling in the high 20s. I'm going to test my monitors first and then start benching (gingerly) the quads. I'm so surprised on how light these Koolance blocks are. Saves me the trouble of getting a couple of backplates.

Last thing on the do list:

pending 12 more R4s, sleeve them, and organize the wiring.

I'm still open to get one more bay reservoir, just waiting for a few things to sort out.

Ok, gotta list these Asus 22" ips screens. Anyone in the San Diego, Cali area interested in a great and budget friendly Surround/Eyefinity setup, hit me up smile.gif

Dells coming together in concert smile.gif. I really love the Dell quality and the extra space (width in Portrait, height in Landscape):

The pivoting stand makes it uber easy to position them in Portrait.

Anyways, thought I share a small package that arrived an hour ago:

One of the cards had a bit of moisture so Im sure there was a bit of leaking. Looks like the foam padding got most of it but did hit it with my heat gun (low and gentle).

Fans are in. Going to try the primochill uv green tube this time. I asked a few ppl who've purchased some recently and they have no issues. It was cheap, $8, so its not too bad of an investment. Flushing out all the Mayhems dye and going to run only distilled.

That's 12 R4s for those R4 lovers out there wink.gif Going to keep busy tonight with sleeving them.

Second bay res still waiting on a response to order one smile.gif

I'm looking for the EVGA ones to match the cards but everyone is sold out. Would be nice to go with DWood. Might just pick up some EK ones later on.
