There is a cin.get(); at the end before main() returns :)  using namespace std makes everything easier

hmm how about on a real gpu data crunchers like K10, K20 or teslas?

This is partly in prep as I may be getting K20X/Xeon Phi in to test.  I have in the past done extensive CUDA programming (and published research papers) using some of these algorithms.  The only downside with CUDA is the lack of AMD support.  Programming for AMD cards is a PITA as there is no high level language for it.  C++ AMP gets around that as it uses DX11 calls for computational stuff.  Though CUDA on NVIDIA would always be faster.  I'm looking forward to the fact that Xeon Phi is essentially an OpenMP card, though it's Linux only and I have no Linux experience.

Methinks two reasons:

a) AMD single core performance looks like it really hits hard

b) I think PCIe lanes are a big factor here - if you're running CF and it's restricting the card to PCIe x8, then there's a chance that the drop in speed is affecting the score.
