Post FX definitely improves frames and apart from the blurring of distance I cant see no difference. The only down side is you can see distant trees dissolving in the distance. Now with everything ultra settings except Post FX turned off gives me 60fps (93% of the time) at 2560x1440 and stuttering has dropped alot.

There's nothing wrong with it?

Unless you mean by not not having "SLI" listed by each card, then I don't see what needs to be changed tongue.gif

I've been playing Far Cry 3 on PC ultra everything, no AA @2560x1600 with crossfire 7970's @ 1150/1600 and i7 875k @ 4.0Ghz 1.45V. Pretty happy with my framerate and overall experience. I have yet to try the new AMD drivers that are supposed to increase performance, but will do so when I get home from work. 50-75fps usually and occasional dips into 45, but for the most part 60+.

I really don't understand why people are saying this game is so visually stunning and amazing to look at. It's a beautiful game, but nowhere near as pretty as other games that have already been on the market for quite some time. Metro 2033 and Crysis 1 come to mind for me.

Needless to say, I am loving the game.

Playing on a Dell U3011 if anyone was wondering.

I run triples and have seen up to 3.7gb maybe a little higher can't remember for sure. On a single 1080p I've gotten it up to I think 2.2 with everything maxed completely out. I also don't think I've ran the DX11 according to the other posts I've seen.

Which might explain why you don't see any benefit from having MSAA enabled.
That's stupid. Why would they do that. I've jsut used the desktop icon steam gave me, and then use uplay. I assume this means I ahven't tried DX11 yet?

I went through as many pages as I could, trying to find a similar issue to my own.

I started playing FC3 with a single 680. Ultra settings, HDAO and no MSAA. I was getting around 50-65 frames comfortably. 310.70 Drivers.

I got my 2nd 680 in the mail yesterday and I cranked the MSAA to 4. The performance has been nearly double that of a single 680. Currently getting 65-100 FPS. But for sometimes (and it appears to be random) my GPU usage for both cards tanks to about 50% and my frames to 25 FPS. This only lasts for a few moments and has occured in random locations from dense night jungle to open daylight. It seems to me that it is an SLI issue. Has anyone seen/heard of this and recommend a solution?

You may need to force an SLI compatibility bit to support SLI better.

You can't see no difference? The different from even low to high is extreme on my system! It goes from a horrid looking game to one of the best. I tested quality at the docs house at the top of the hill.

Edit: For those still on 12.10 whql, are you using caps and if so, which caps? Thank you.

Unless they changed it, Afterburner and PRecision add the VRAM used for all cards together, so 3.7 in tri-SLI would be about 1.2 per card. Which tracks with what I've seen, around 1GB most of the time.

I have no idea why they made a separate executable for DX11 - sounds like something that was done late, I know Nvidia was complaining about them changing file names and messing up the SLI profile when it launched. Not sure if that was related though.

Aren't you supposed to use HBAO with nvidia ?
