Starting area I'm getting around 80-120 fps ... on ultra and 1440p. But with lots of stuttering.
Thank you!
If you get lot stuttering put Vsync on and see if that helps

Wow... what a mess! Yes it's smooth when clamping the FPS to 59 and turning on Vsync... BUT WOW! What huge dips in frame rate.

Look at this!

Without ocking frames for this game, the stuttering is horrid, even with vsync. Locking the fps and using vsync in combination works wonders!

Has any "magic" fix been found? It seems like no matter the settings I use, I get the same dips in frame rate. Using MSAA KILLS the frame rate too. I disabled postFX, but it still seems to run horribly. Is it like this for the whole rest of the game... or does it run better after the starting area?

Well, my fps doubles from using pcie x8 to pcie x16 (Yes, pci-e 3.0). This game saturates the whole bandwidth of pci-e x16 2.0 and requires 3.0 x16 for optimal performance just for this game! No other game has this demand for bandwidth. I could not believe my eyes after the results I got from hours of testing.

Wow... I don't even have that option. Since my mobo only allows 1 card to be x16... when both are installed, it's capped at x8 for both. So does it seem like it's something fixable with a patch? Where it'll be better down the road?

No it is not fixable because that is how demanding the game is. Remove 2nd card and I bet your fps will double! Upgrade to pci-e 3.0 x16 and it will almost quadrouple. the game loves massive pci-e bandwidth.

I had terrible framerates when running at optimal settings and 1920x1080 resolution with vsync off. So I set catalyst control center to super sample aa, override application settings, went back to the in-game settings and turned my resolution down to 144x900, no anti aliasing, and ran everything at ultra settings. My framerate runs at 100 frames, but I had to give up anti aliasing to get the game playable. Before I had made this change, I was getting frame spikes even on low visual settings and vysnc off.

Can you show proof of this? Just wondering... cause I am building a PC for my sister and I'll buy myself a new mobo and give her my current one so I can do this. Won't cost me more than a few bucks. So yea. thumb.gif

So... I am getting this weird issue here in this exact spot. Looks like crossfire is being turned off and on... and that's why the huge frame drop. It's that exact spot... I can walk back and forth on it and have it happen.

Then if I disable Vsync... this is what I get EVERYWHERE... but with a ton of stuttering. If I have Vsync enabled... I'm bouncing from 47-60 constantly. Same thing is happen while I am at 80-100... just bouncing up and down.
