Please can someone help with this visual problem... the ground textures disappear when I move forward, it seems random. Drivers are latest betas, game is up to date... This happens in 2D and 3D

Just a heads up to some 680/nVidia users@1440p. I'm at 50-60FPS, after playing with the settings for 3 days:

-FORCE off in game AA via posting this string in your XML gamer profile AFTER

-ADD Farcry3_d3d11.exe in nVidia Control Panel, Manage 3D Settings
-Turn ON Adaptive Vsync in nVidia Control Panel
-Turn ON Triple Buffering in nVidia Control Panel
-Turn ON "Single Display Performance Mode" in nVidia Control Panel
-Turn ON "Prefer Maximum Performance" in nVidia Control Panel

Finally, once all settings are complete and you're happy with performance, set XML to READ only.

My specific problem with my single 680@1440p was that it would randomly drop GPU usage and play at 30FPS intermittently. Was driving me nuts and it works like a charm now, so above are my settings that cured+added FPS.

*All of my settings are at Ultra except Shadows which are at Very High and the said tweaks above. 50-60 FPS@1440p, Adaptive.
*I have collective mods 1.6 release compatible with 1.0.4 - latest Ubi Patch.

I'm running triple monitors and GTX580 Tri-sli. I tried entering your settings with the exception of Turn ON "Single Display Performance Mode" in nVidia Control Panel This has limited my fps from its previous peaks of 180 to 50 or 60.
Right, just turned adaptive v-sync off and it can run up to over 220fps...Amanaki town can get me down to 50fps...Hmmm, I guess that's an improvement, but can't be totally sure because I'm not that good at keeping an eye on fps while playing. smile.gif

I got a problem. I wanted to run FC3 manually by clicking the farcry3_d3d11.exe folder application and it launched Ubisoft. Upon logging in my Ubisoft account. It asked me for the CD key? I already entered that the week i purchased this last week? What gives? I put in the cd key and it says invalid?

Am i not supposed to manually launch farcry3_d3d11?

Yeah, if you bought it from Steam, you need to launch it via Steam. I tried to launch it manually and it did the same thing to me.

For what it's worth, I found changing the gammaramp setting in the .xml file (or changing the slider in the options) significantly improved the overall look on my card. It was really washing out before (I think because the HDR is overdone, but whatever) but changing the gamma really darkened the image and improved the look. Made night seem really like night also. I went with 0.8 in the xml, but I think I might tweak that back up to 0.85 and see how that is - right now the inside of the safe houses are really dark.

Works fine for me in DX 11, think I just knocked shadows back one step, in saying that though... why let something as petty as DX9 vs DX11 ruin the game for you? Just run DX9 it runs a lot better and looks damn fine.

Still doesn't look any better than Crysis though rolleyes.gif
