are you playing at 1080p?

I don't know what's going on with this game. So many people getting low frame rates. My system is nothing special and I get 100fps pretty much everywhere, sometimes upto 140 and very rarely below 80.

At first the game ran brilliantly for me, as it does now. Then I decided to up the speed of my GPU's and the game started using only 50-60% MAXIMUM gpu power. So I had to reinstall the nvidia driver and reset my clock speed to stock and now the game uses 99% of each gpu again and I get high frame rates. Strange.

Prolly one of of the best looking games i have played so far this year....finally i can forget the vegetation of Crysis tongue.gif
getting good 45avg frames with ups of 55-60 even 70fps and lowest it goes to 39fps with these settings....i think this game favors the AMD GPUs a bit, currently my card is OCed to 950Mhz with NV 310.64 drivers

Honestly the game isn't really very well optimized. Looks great, in fact barring Hitman Absolution, this is the best looking game I have seen this year (still not as robust an engine as the original Crysis' Cryengine 2).

In towns i frequently get in the 50s.

The original crysis 1 engine was horrible, not optimised at all. cryengine 3 is better, say what you want about console engine etc. just runs better and looks beter IMO. can you get 60FPS solid max settings @ 1080p with your system in Crysis 1 in heavy areas?

@naved, yeah it is a AMD evolved title frown.gif, Even though I have a nvidia card I'm not a fan of exclusive stuff like physx and GPU optimisastion like AMD evolved and nvidia twimtbp titles, just optimise the game for everyone biggrin.gif work with both GPU manu's

I can't get SLI working. I have tried using the Nvidiainspector method, and changed the SLI compatibility bits DX11 to 0x0C1902F5, yet still my second GPU does not go over 3% usage. I have SLI turned on of course. Is there anything I could be missing?
Cheers.

Do this. First remove the dx11.exe profile that you may have made in the NV Control Panel (use the Remove button in the top right). Now go and add the file individually to the Far Cry 3 profile. I was having the same issue and now it is working.

I had the same problem, reinstalled drivers 310.64 and Installed nvidia inspector 1.9.6.8 , change the hex code not under compatility it says something like SLI dx10. scroll down in nvidia inspector near the bottom with 1.9.6.8, Nvidia Control panel will also have the Far Cry 3 profile, but you can now choose the Dx11 exe.

No I cannot. And I know it is a horribly optimised system. I get almost the same FPS as i did with my previous 580 sli setup as I do with SLI 680s. It was basically optimised for dual cores and had no scability beyond 2 cards and that too wasnt all that great.

I was comparing visual fidelity. NOTHING even today can match Crysis in graphics. Have you even seen the physics?? The vegetation, the way it responds to wind is the craziest thing I have ever seen. Despite being a DX9 title it was amazing. yes the performance sucks but the game even today is a sight to behold.

Hey mate. I tried this but the normal Far Cry 3.exe is stuck in DX9.

EDIT.

Got it working. Just had to start from the DX11.exe.

Only problem now is if I shoot anything that leaves a mark. It slows down to 20 fps if there is a single bullet decal. I might just have to play this one in DX9.

Are there any comparisons online?
