What could be causing the stuttering? My guess would be my CPU bottlenecking my cards. Anything else I should check?
I don't think so, sounds like micro-stuttering or an unstable overclock.

Yeah far cry 3 has way better art style in my eyes than crysis and it looks better. You can use crouch without the toggle button biggrin.gif

How do you do that then smile.gif

Don't get me wrong. This is probably the best game of the year but bugs, glitches and fps issues mar an otherwise stellar experience.

Are you just going to drop in every few hours to complain about the 'bad optimization' on this game, or what?

How is it, exactly, that you are empirically testing the 'optimization level' of the game? What's your methodology for determining 'optimization'? To me it sounds like you're saying 'I don't as much FPS as I *believe* I should get, therefore the optimization sucks'.

Also, keep in mind that SLI/Xfire operation is *entirely* the responsibility of nVidia/AMD, and the drivers they produce. Games don't know or care about multi-GPU operation, there's no special coding to support these technologies (although the engine at a very simple/basic level has to support AFR ... which they ALL do for the past 7 years or so).

If you're going to complain about SLI performance/operation, put the blame where it belongs ... the people who make the drivers, not the game developers.

Nice. The DOF effect in the screenies on this thread make it look like it's WAY overdone. I always turn DoF off anyways (although some games have a 'low' setting that's acceptable, like Hitman:Absolution). I don't get why I'd want to 'pay' (fps-wise) for a blurry image? Things in the periphery of your view already look blurry just because of how your eyes operate ...

Difference between POSTFX LOW, HIGH, ULTRA

LOW looks quite bad. HIGH is a nice balance.

Setting postfx to low, will look BAD. You have to DISABLE it.
PostFxQuality="false" (just search for this setting in the xml, and write false in)
and this you have to write in the xml too, in the renderprofile section:
Code:
<Post>
<quality GameDepthOfField="0" CinematicDepthOfField="0"/>
</Post>
And then you have to make the xml read only. Start up the game, but dont go to the graphics settings, just enjoy the look smile.gif

wheres this xml file?

nevermind I found it
