Game is running sweet for me on the last WHQL drivers, bout to try it w/the new 310.70 beta's. I have it on ultra w/no MSAA or Alpha coverage, with HBAO on. Does 60fps pretty much steady, only occasional small dips below it (and thankfully, when that happens, the usage is 99% so hopefully we shouldn't get 1000's of posts on the GPU boards going "why does I not getz 99% usage in FC3?!?!!!!1!!" like we do for some other games (Battlefield games, I'm looking at you
) ... at least not once the SLI issues are ironed out.
I have to say, for a game that looks so stunning so much of the time, there are sure some UBER crappy textures on certain items, like the boomboxes.
Also, there MUST be FXAA enabled, I'm guessing as part of the Post-FX settings ... because I've NEVER seen a game with so little aliasing without any AA enabled. You really don't even need MSAA in this game ... nice that a top end single card can rock it maxed out as long as AA isn't cranked up ... and you don't need it anyways. Thought I'z gonna have to drop 400 for another 670 at first there ...
I do feel compelled to complain about some minor annoyances/things I hope that UBI or the modders fix:
1) The DoF is WAAAY overdone, and it can't be toggled off/down via ingame settings. REALLY hope someone fixes that.
2) Alt-Tabbing throws the game into windowed mode, and you have to go into settings and re-enable full-screen when you return. That's annoying.
3) Foliage doesn't move unless it's really quite near you. It'd be really nice for immersion if the trees in the distance could be seen swaying in the wind a bit. As it is, only the world in the immediate vicinity has a 'living' feel, vistas in the distance look a bit like static photos.
4) The 'mini-map' should be adjustable in size, and it REALLY needs to be moved a lot closer to the corner of the screen. The way it looks now is obnoxious. Too big, and too far out into the middle of your view. Same with the prompt boxes that show what your objectives are like during the initial plant collection mission. Thing is WAY obtrusive.Edited by brettjv - 12/4/12 at 5:05pm
