Yeah thats one of the few things that disappointed me, there is HEAVY compression on some of the dialog.

Same for me with the audio. However, while perusing the ubi forums, I found someone modding the audio as well as some other cool stuff, such as sniper sight. I'll post back with a link when I get home. Another oddity with the crashing I've heard about and experienced twice now, specifically the screen goes black while audio continues and you can ctrl-alt-del out and close the game. I setup a trap to save the crash so I could perform a proper debugging. The dll module that caused this time DWM to crash was part of the nvidia drivers. Easily enough after 2 minutes I found the same issue reported quite a few times in the geforce forums under driver feedback for 310.70. So I'm leaning towards the new drivers being an issue for some, while I'm sure ubi and fc3 have issues as well, this is only relative to the dx11 version of the game. Another odd observation was watching the cpu load to the cores which was hitting me quite nicely, but exactly when the crash occurred its as if I lost multi threading as all cores went to 0 usage and left 1 core at 100%. Then after killing fc3dx11 process, everything went back to normal.

I'd like to point this out one more time, because i think its odd and even a tad ridiculous...

Far Cry 3 is part of AMD's Gaming Evolved program, next to that (and i quote from the web) "Ubisoft is also utilizing AMD Radeon graphics, AMD Eyefinity and AMD CrossFire technologies for Far Cry 3. The collaboration is an attempt to bring an enhanced gaming experience for PCs."

And still, (judging by several benchmarks around and personal exp.) Nvidia has a reasonable edge over AMD in Far Cry 3. I know its still early and upcoming drivers may change this but i'd be kind of ashamed being AMD right now. And it is not the first time this happened..

If anyone want's to get rid of the hud, I've been using this mod it looks a lot better. Also go to the beginning of the thread for the sound mods and other stuff.

Compiled better version

I finally stopped fighting the good fight and switched back to DX9 mode. Now I can run everything Ultra with 4x MSAA at 60+ the whole time, and I can't tell a difference visually. Maybe if they release a performance patch I'll switch back, but hte random frame drops in DX11 were killing me.

With a 3770k clocked to 4.3GHz and an EVGA GTX 680 Classified at stock clocks, I got about 40-45 FPS with everything on Ultra/8xMSAA. What settings should I change to get 60FPS without too much reduction in graphics quality? Game is patched to 1.0.2 and I'm running the 310.70 drivers.
EDIT: How much preformance gain should I get if I were to disable "Core Parking"?
