Asus 6950 Display Port Out Issues

My computer functions as an HTPC as well in one of the rooms of my home. I sold a few video cards, and all currently have left is an Asus 6950 DCII with 2 DVI and 4 Display Port.

Running a Display Port to HDMI adapter is now giving me all kinds of issues...i.e. one issue being that no signal seems to get to the screen on an off brand 32" 720P screen.

The TV took signal fine from various Nvidia cards over the last few years, but it is worth noting this is not the first ATI card to have issues. Others include a 5870M, 6990M, and a few 5xxx cards. None would get signal to the TV, although I could see the screen was connected via HDMI in Catalyst.

I have tried all varieties of resolutions and refresh rates, but get nothing on the screen. With the Nvidia cards I was able to set up various 720P resolutions, as well as the Nvidia control center's 1080i setting, and 1080P. 1080P looked like trash with apparent tearing going on throughout the screen. Nevertheless, at least I had audio and video.

I do not have any issues with DVI, but I have never used a DVI to HDMI adapter. HDMI and ATI are the only common themes.

Any other thoughts?

Anyone have anything that merits attempting?

It's either ati having problems with dp to hdmi, or your TV with the card. Try using it on another monitor or TV.(If you can)
