Win7 Explorer - Limited to 26 Viewable Partitions?

Question: Is there any way to increase the number of viewable partitions in Win7 Explorer beyond the limitation of 26 Drive Letters? And Without Using Folders. For example, Drive D, Drive DD, Drive E, Drive EE, and so on.

I know about making Folders within Partitions but that proves to be a viewing and sorting nightmare. For what it's worth I can show someone how to create Folders to accomplish this if need be.

Also, maybe this will help someone. I have Multi-Tabs for Office 2010 and now here's Multi-Tabs for Win7 Explorer: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/28997/add-tabbed-browsing-to-explorer-in-windows-7/

Oh, and please don't ask me why I have so many partitions. It's a very long and sad story. rolleyes.gif

Not that I'm aware of, you would need to some how alter the way Windows addresses them...

1) I just tested that version of Multi-Tabs and it's awful. Please disregard my offer to help.

This is what I have learned from my moderately extensive reading today. It appears that 26 is the cap on Explorer, though Computer Management can see more. It looks like the only way to increase the number of partitions is to use embedded folders within existing drives. I just thought that someone on OCN would have a Magic Bullet.

Try mounting your drives in this folder: C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Network Shortcuts

It's not the same as drive letters, but they appear at the root level in explorer :-)
