Yeah I wanted to but a cutting disc for the miter saw downstairs but It costs close to 90$ and I couldn't justify it. I will probably do it for next time though since it would save so much time!

Aluminum is soft enough to cut with a wood blade. Just take it slow and don't forget you safety glasses. I use an old blade to cut metal with then switch it out for a good one for wood. As far as the painting, not to sure about the primer. I do know to take your time and be sure to sand between coats for a smooth look. You will be rewarded for you patience. Once you start rushing paint, it won't like it. Light coats and then sand. Rinse and repeat for both paint and primer coats. There is a thread in here where the gent did a great job. I think his build is call" inverted" but upside down.

Thanks a lot vaporizer. Ill have to test out the wooden cutting discs next time.

Also that build log was quite amazing. I will be going ahead and following the same method he used. Looks like a lot of work but the result looks worth it. Any ideas how to obtain a matte finish though? I can't decide if i want it shiny or Matte at the moment

Okay so unfortunately my computer is being a total b**** at the moment. It doesn't want to play nice- in fact I've done a bit of research and it appears my CPU may be on its way out frown.gif
I'm hoping that tomorrow I'll be able to run it long enough to get all the dimensions of the acrylic so I can cut it. My plan is to cut and prep the acrylic so I can spend Saturday drilling holes in everything. I just need my computer to play fair!

Anyway, here is a video of my computer. What happens is it starts up, and runs for 5-10 minutes and then BAM it shuts off. But then it starts up again by itself. Then turns off. And so now my computer is having a seizure or something lol. I can't afford anything new so I just have to hope it doesn't do this all the time frown.gif

Have you tried resetting the CMOS and changing its battery?
