Burned PC (Help) - Page 2

Dang man I feel your pain. I also just went through Sandy AND had my PC break in an unrelated incident; how coincidental is that?

That really sucks. A lot. Just gave me a big glowing reason to never buy, nor suggest, a CM psu.

Are the rest of the parts listed in your rig up to date? Because your GPU there does not match the 580 you have. Also: Do you have a budget in mind? Or are you going to make the budget fit the parts? CPU and GPU can definitely stay, you said your keeping the motherboard as well (thats awesome that it wasn't ruined)...

Minimally need a PSU and case, just dunno what else youre trying to upgrade and within what budget.

What was the first thing you did once you realized your PC was making smoke signals? I would be afraid to go near the damn thing.

Rule number 1, don't panic, pull power out! Then start blowing out the fire! Haha

Actually could not believe it happend, after I put out the fire, I turned it on again to see if I was dreaming and it caught on fire again. Pretty pathetic eh? I'm so upset with myself! This thing barely made it through a year.

Your right, I need to update my GPU. Wows, good catch. My budget is around 1k. This way I can replace my PSU and Case. I'm thinking of adding 2 new Rads, it might be overkill but, with the thinner Koolance Rad. My RX360 gave me space issues with my StrikeX.

I'm thinking of adding the following if I go with the Switch 810:

single koolance rad

dual koolance rad

triple koolance rad

Ho...ly....crap.

That...THAT is a fire. lol. Sorry for your losses, man. That sucks bad. At least you were home to catch it and it didn't happen while you were out or sleeping. Things could have been much worse.

Sorry to hear about that bro, really does suck.
Bright side you get to upgrade now smile.gif Even if it wasnt needed, buying and playing with new parts always a fun time wink.gif

Side note; turning the comp back on to see if it happened... wow.... lol But i wont hang my head in shame, at least you didnt let it burn and take pictures >< lol

Damn.. and I thought the fact that I had to replace my motherboard and CPU was bad; you gotta replace everything!
Really does suck though. I can see why people avoid coolermaster PSU's.

Haha I was actually considering that option, but I don't know how good Cool Master warranty is. Otherwise it would made a good YouTube video.

I'm probably going to spend another 1000 or up. I guess I want try new things, in a safe manner. Haha got a UPS this time.

The new parts.
