First im limited to local travels so prices aren't the lowest, but i try to pick the lowest around. Also I plan to not OC to max but keep it around 3GHz and gonna keep it running at that speed. Open to suggestions on cooling. All below figures are in $CAD.

CPU: $219 E6300,
http://www.pcvonline.com/productDetails.aspx?id=3866
Mobo: $139 Gigabyte 965P S3,
http://www.pcvonline.com/productDetails.aspx?id=3969
Gfx: $340/2=165 ATI x1950 pro,
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index...75&cid=999.243
(my buddy works in ATI, they get 50% employee discount for all ATI products)
RAM: $290, OCZ 2gig Dual Channel DDR2 800MHz platinum
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index...67&cid=RAM.475
(Corsair TWINX is expensive)
HDD: $89, Maxtor DiamondMax 10 250Gb - 7200rpm - 16Mb Cache SATA
http://www.pcvonline.com/productDetails.aspx?id=2388
(I really dont know much about HDDs, any suggestions?)
Cooling: $45, Gigabyte (GH-PDU21-MF)
http://www.canadacomputers.com/index...890&cid=FN.349
(Heard someone talked about this, blue LED goes well with case, but im open to suggestions)
PSU: $124, OCZ GameXStream 600W
http://www.pcvonline.com/productDetails.aspx?id=3581
(I think without OCing to MAX, i dont need 700W. But maybe I will when upgrade to Kentsfield sometime down the line)
Case: $127, Antec Nine Hundred
http://www.pcvonline.com/productDetails.aspx?id=4411
(just want to get a good case and be one purchase for like.. 10 years)
DVD Drive: $36, LG Black 16x DVD Writer
http://www.pcvonline.com/productDetails.aspx?id=3692
Fans to fill Case: $46, Aerocool Xtreme Turbine Blue 120mm Case Fan 89.4CFM x2
http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applicatio...701173&CatId=0
(Also open to suggestion for 2x120mm case fan, maybe 89.4 CFM is overkilling? I thought about it, i got 2x 120mmfan in front, 200mm fan above both blowing in, and i got only 2x 120mm of fan space for blowing out (back + side) maybe i need some powerful fans.)

Overall: $1280 CAD = approx $1116.41 USD

I'm also open to price cutting suggestions

I have taken that board and processor to 2.93 on stock cooling and with Corsair Value dram 667 @ 800MHz 4 - 4 - 4 - 12 and it registered almost as well as my expensive Corsair (Yea, pissed me off a bit)

A review of your cooler:

For an overclock of 3.0Ghz on that setup, well you should be just fine. As far as hard drives go I have found that the warranty is the most important and Seagate has five year warranties. I would go for a five year warrantied drive personally.

I would not personally go for the OCz as it has been problematic with those boards. I go for Corsair, G.Skill, TeamXtreme personally.

All in all, good picks imo.

hmm.. looks like Noctua NH-U12 raped every other cooling fan on noise level and in temperature. for around $56 CAD this sounds interested.. just look not very cool though. for some reason it said that its for AMD.. not compatible with socket 775? gonna find that out after supper

Don't mix the DS3/S3 with ram that has D9 chips.

You'll top out at 450mhz FSB.

so i can actually cheap out a little on RAM?

OCZ 2G (1G X2) DDR2800 Dual Channel Platinum REV 2 XTC has promos chips instead of D9 and they are like $10 cheaper.

its hard to get my hands on g.skill or corsair because they are expensive and/or has to be shipped from BC. i still dont want to use my paypal yet.

and never seen TeamXtreme yet in canada.
