Video/Game crashes with sound loop back to desktop

Hi all!
The problem isn't the actual crashing (which may have various reasons), but the sound loop that happens afterwards. It is constant until I reboot the computer, which often isn't possible due to important programs running that I can't just close.
Restarting the Windows Audio Service doesn't help, not even logging off and back on.
Has anyone experienced these kind of sound loops as well? Is there any way of removing them without rebooting?

Thanks for any help!

Do you have stereo mix enabled? I know it sounds stupid, but i had a similar issue when i started a game, the sound would be constantly looping/making inaudible sounds.

Stereo Mix? What do you mean?

I restarted the Xonar DGX Center, no result.
Disabling/Reenabling Audio Devices, nada.

The sound HAS to be coming from SOMEWHERE mad.gif
