My new RAM, Corsair XMS Pro Series :D

Thread Starter
Yeap, just got this RAM from my boss, I traded him a 1gb ddr400 Kingston Value, and one older 512mb stick of Corsair XMS (single channel) also ddr400 -- and in return (as part of my xmas bonus woo hoo) he hooked me up here, these are the modules with the LEDs even

He said we weren't using them to their full potential here at the office (it was in our laser engraving computer) and he knows Im retarded for overclocking, so Id get more use out of this great RAM.

I also got a few random 120mm fans, smaller heatsinks and I got to build our new windows server box (complete with athlon 3700 sandy) - although he proceeded to tell me, dont overclock the server (I think he bought a sandy just to mess with me XD )

Besides, what does our server need overclocking for *enters the BIOS* -- maybe just 200mhz

LMAO - I would not overclock servers personally. Start pumping up the volume on your own rig.

What can you take those stick up to?

Haha

As soon as I get the package in the mail with my 80mm-to-120mm fan adapter and the 120mm fan for my CPU heatsink (yea, custom and ghetto, lets here it for budget air cooling with a budget CPU) then Ill fire back up my home PC and post some new OCs with this RAM

Also, does anyone have any experience with corsair XMS overclocking? any expected speeds? I had the kingston to 235mHz before I decided it was enough for that RAM, voltage was somewhere like 2.9/3.0

Pardon my double post here, but I just thought you guys would like to know, I couldnt wait to try the corsair - Im such an impatient bastard.

Anyways, I ziptied a thermaltake 120mm fan to my PSU and it is dangling in front of my stock heatsink, heres what it looks like XD keeps ambient 4 degrees cooler than my stock fan did, and load temps down by only 3. But when I figure out a better way to mount it, that will change I hope.

I gotta do something like that... I need to hit at least 2.8Ghz for my inner OCer to be satisfied. Might just have to bite the bullet and buy WC even though Christmas is coming around the corner...

Yea, I now what you mean, 2.6 isnt enough, if you feel like the chip can go higher, PUSH IT HIGHER!

to get anywhere with water cooling though, you have to do it right.

That ram is good stuff. I sold a set like that to dotcomthese, except they were 3200XLPRO, which is TCCD. I miss having those LEDs bob up and down lol.
