Integrated graphics either provide you with simple, cheap, low-power, compact graphics or GPGPU-accelerated computing.
That's useful to anyone who actually uses their computer to anywhere near its potential.
I cannot fathom how soldering desktop CPUs to the motherboard is beneficial for anyone other than Intel.
