Cheapest Korean 27" IPS?

I have a friend whos looking into ugrading her computer, and id really love to get her onto the IPS bandwagon (shes an architect so the display would really suit her) - shes not looking to spend too much, just wanted to know what the cheapest Korean variant would be?

I'm thinking the Shimian? And they should work with the Intel HD 2000 right?

Thanks

Hey buddy

As far as I know the Korean Displays do not work with integrated video cards such as HD 2000, 3000 or 4000

Other than that Shimian is the cheapest.

The Shimian would be the cheapest, however as already posted won't work with onboard graphics.

However, for a nominal price he can pick up a dual link dvi video card, especially with the prices this time of the year on video cards.

Hey bro

I am not sure if 7800GS will work.

These monitors work with the below GPUs

1000

Of course it works with the 6xx Nvidia and 7xxxx ATI GPUs too.

it does indeed work - i bought one used locally for like $10 to use my 2ndary connection my current Crossover - it at least works for 60hz. My 7970 will power the Overlord OC once it arrives.

Risks? That its too awesome?

She doesnt play games, she does a lot of graphic/design/CAD type things for her job - the increased resolution, viewing angles and the ability to go portrait without color wash would be pretty great for her.

Or are you talking about ebay and ordering from Korea? the 1 year warranty....

ya that kinda sucks hehe

If anything happens, having her try to deal technology from 3000 miles away is going to be a huge hindrance. Except to involve yourself in any dealings with the monitor if it is broken, damaged or malfunctioning.
