Graphics card failing or overheating?

Thread Starter
Hello,

I recently built a new rig, all the parts are listed below. The 7950 arrives tomorrow thumb.gif so until then im using a 4670. The computer keeps crashing when i try to play world of warcraft or Starcraft 2,

I used to have a Dell Optiplex 745 and i purchased the 4670 to use in that system, It was fine for a year or so then it started crashing so i figured it was the low watt power supply so i switched that card into a new rig with a slighty more powerful PSU. Same thing, would crash. Now i built this new rig with brand new parts. Using the 4670 until the 7950 comes in. Tried playing today and the computer crashed. I installed everything right, all temps are fine, voltages and etc..

It has to be the GPU right? is it overheating or is it just failing?..

You can use AMD's own CCC (right click your desktop, or use Afterburner to lower the clock (or raise the voltage):

Looks like it worked. If it did and you want to run at default speed again, you'll need to unlock voltage control in AB and increase the core voltage a bit (0.02v) and test...
